She grew up in East St. Louis, IL, and Bloomsdale, MO, and served as an aspirant at St. Mary’s Convent in O’Fallon, MO for two years. She then graduated from St. Teresa Academy in East St. Louis in 1946.
Ruth met Leonard “Lenny” Schneider, her husband, in 1946 on a blind date shortly after her graduation.
